Most people pay more than they need to For flights and the worst part is you May not even realize that you're getting A bad deal you might even pat yourself On the back at your cleverness after you Book cheap flights but little did you Know with some small tweaks it was Possible to find cheaper flights today I'm going to show you seven mistakes That could be costing you extra when You're hunting for cheap airfare if You've already heard of every single one Of these cheap flight tips consider Yourself a travel hacking expert let's Go Mistake number one is relying on google Flights sky scanner or other flight Search engines now i'm all for google Flights in fact our most popular video On this channel with over 600 000 views Is my tricks on how to find cheap Flights with google flights but Sometimes you have to do a little extra Investigation to find the true cheapest Flights here's one example to show you What i mean i'm all geeked up to travel To kenya soon so we'll use that let's Say that we want to fly from the capital Of nairobi to mombasa on the coast pop That into google flights and this is What you get over 600 dollars one way What the f if you scroll down you can See all the airlines that google is Searching here and it turns out that
These aren't all the airlines that are Actually available how do i know because I quickly googled budget airlines in Kenya or whatever your destination You're going to and i quickly saw that There's some on the list that aren't Showing up in google so i went directly To these airline pages and would you Look at here these flights cost a little Over 5 000 kenyan shilling which comes Out to around 46 bucks so whenever You're flying in a different country Always make sure to take a second to Search for a list of all the local Budget airlines to make sure you're not Missing anything mistake number two is Booking flights through third party Sites are you tempted to buy a cheap Flight through third-party websites like Kiwi or e-dreams you better check Yourself before you wreck yourself that Was dumb why did i say that you better Check yourself before you wreck yourself These sites are notoriously horrible to Deal with when things go south like if You need to reschedule flight or it gets Delayed or canceled horrible speaking of Which we made a whole video on exactly What to do if your flight gets cancelled Or delayed to get what you deserve so Check that one out next anyway i've Heard horror story after horror story in Our youtube comments on our other flight Videos about third party websites and

And easy and start earning free flights And stop spending your money on flights Mistake number four is not searching for Your flights in other currencies and Locations if you're only searching from Your home location and your home Currency you could be paying more than You have to it's no secret that some Sites have location-based pricing which Means that the prices vary depending on Where you're searching from fortunately There's a few tricks that you can do to Get the cheapest prices the first is to Play around with the country and Currency settings on the flight search Website making sure to do everything in An incognito window now this is Obviously going to give you prices in a Currency that you might not be familiar With so just pop open google and type in For example kenyan shilling to usd like What i did earlier and it should show You what the price is in your currency Sometimes when you change the country or Currency it'll also change the language Of the website and so if that happens You'll also have to use google translate To check the prices apart from changing Those settings you can also test out Setting a vpn to different countries so If you're flying to india for example it Might make more sense to set your Location on your vpn to india and then Search for your flight than searching
From it from in the us or whatever it's Also a good idea to clear your cookies Every time you make switches like this Just in case sometimes prices will be The same that's okay but sometimes You'll be pleasantly surprised okay These last two are super quick mistake Number six is booking in groups the way A lot of these websites work is if you Search for a group let's say three or Four people it'll only give you Three or four or whatever of the same Type of seats and so let's say for Example there is one seat that's cheaper And the other seats are more expensive You're not going to get the cheaper seat Because it only pairs the same type of Seats together so if you're going in a Group especially a bigger group it's Helpful to check individually the prices For one ticket the one exception to this Is if one of the members in the group Has elite status to the airline that You're using and they can pass some of Their perks on to other members in the Group alrighty the last mistake and this Is a big one and that is choosing your Flight purely based on price it's also About comfort guys and you have to weigh Everything together when you're making Your decision think about it is saving 30 bucks but having to take a red-eye Flight with two extra layovers where You're likely to spend more than that 30
