Hello guys we're here in the rooftop of Our Airbnb in Turkey we've been Traveling around Turkey for about a Month and a half now and there are some Certain things that we wish you would Have known before coming here and today We're going to share 10 of them with you But we're not going to do it here Because that would be boring we are Going to go way down there We're gonna walk down the mountain to Try some Turkish food and then get to The beach for a while we'll see if it's Still warm enough to go swimming while We share those tips with you let's go [Music] Okay so the first thing we wish we would Have known is about scams in the funny Slash embarrassing thing is we actually Looked up common scams in Turkey right Before we got scammed from the different Taxi Driver scams to people offering you Free things in the streets to the fake Turkish carpet scams but our scam was a Little bit different we decided to try a Fancy 10 course restaurant for the first Time in our lives and long story short The menu said one price and when the Bill came it was double and there was a Bunch of confusion and nobody knew what Was happening we trusted this restaurant Because the chef that was there was Actually a chef like a super Chef that Was on MasterChef that was on TV so they
Had a bunch of credibility we thought it Must be our mistake but after we paid we Realized that the other couple that was Sitting next to us the same thing Happened and they were Turkish and so we Got taken to the house so before coming To Turkey research the common scams and Speaking of food in just a sec we'll Show you a secret Delicious Restaurant That we found and share some more tips With you there but for now let's keep Walking [Music] The second important thing to know Before you come to Turkey it's how you Can dress as a woman I was a little bit Worried about that because the last time I came to Turkey in 2014 I think and I Felt very uncomfortable and I was Wearing like normal clothes so this time I didn't know what to wear because of That but then I came here and many Tourist people and even Turkish girls Were just wearing normal clothes maybe Because we've been interesting areas it Depends on the areas but is it still a More conservative country so try to be Respectful based on your surroundings Foreign [Music] Okay the next tip tip number three is That a lot of times your credit card Isn't going to work when you're booking Things online it was super frustrating
Actually this is a double tip for Example with the hot air balloons we Tried with like four different companies In like 10 different credit cards some Us credit cards some Colombian credit Cards and nothing worked and so we had To just reach out to them with WhatsApp And reserve and then paying cash when we Got there or with a credit card machine When we got there this also happened With some hotels which also another Thing to know is that booking.com if you Use that website to book your hotels Like we do it doesn't work inside of Turkey So you have to use a VPN and you can set The VPN for outside of turkey when You're using bookie.com to make your Reservations and so that's one thing we Wish we would have known the credit card Situation and the booking situation [Music] Okay the next thing we wish we knew Before coming to Turkey was the hot air Balloons in cabadosia are totally worth It even if you have to pay a little bit More like we have to pay double or more Compared to people who came here six Months ago but it was totally worth the Money it's an incredible experience uh It's a spectacular it just you you have To do it if you come to Turkey you have To do that for sure So if you're wondering where we are
We're going to tell you in a second but We're crossing the bridge right now and This way along the street if you keep Going that way you'll get to cash and This way you'll get to fethi J and Olu Denis which is a good place for Paragliding you can see in the Background here way up the mountain That's where we're staying has a really Nice view and then down here is the Actual small town itself which is where We're going right now [Music] So right now we're passing the bus Terminal in this small town here and Before we get to the restaurant I want To share one more thing and that is do Not underestimate the heat in Turkey Right now it is at the middle of October I always forget my dates here we're in The middle of October and we're still Sweating and hot so I can't even imagine What it would feel like in the middle of Summer time and so if you're trying to Jam pack your itinerary full of stuff Just remember in the middle of the day It's going to be super super hot Obviously this depends on which part of The country that you're in it depends on Different types of here so when you're Planning your trip take into account the Time of year that you're coming and how Much you're trying to pack into the Middle of your day foreign
[Music] Foreign [Music] So as you can see as far as languages go It will be very cool to know a little Bit of Turkish to communicate with the Awesome people that you meet here That's good that's good we are in a Local restaurant now but if you go to The tourist places most of the people is Gonna speak English oh they're gonna Have the menu in English so you can Order easily so we like to learn some of The basic words at least in each country We visit but it's not required to travel Here in Turkey What Is that a turtle doing the dirty over There what Thank you a beautiful food so guys here We have our awesome meal this one was About two dollars this one was about two Dollars and fifty cents this giant salad And this these are like coffee they're Called these Kefta delicious meatballs this one was About four dollars so pretty affordable [Music] All right guys now before we go into a Food coma let's go down and visit the Prettiest part of town and the beach Where we'll share with you the last Turkey tips that we have for you by the Way turkey isn't even the country's name
Anymore it is turkey J so if you want to Sound smart There you go We're in trouble guys do you have credit Card no It's time because it's not that you can Pay it later I know Don't worry Okay thank you so much So we looked out big time he trusts us Because we've come here like four times And he said that we can come tomorrow And pay so we don't have to stop the Video Let's Go Okay guys so the next tip for traveling In Turkey is do not follow the crowds When we were researching places to stay In Turkey this town never show up like Everyone is talking about Antalya Istanbul Capalosia but when we were exploring the Coast we found this small town called Kalkan so everyone is talking about Antalya but when we research places There they look pretty expensive Compared to this place that we found Here in kakan who also made a video of The place that we stay which is one of The most favorite places that we have Ever stayed and you can watch the video Here so when you're planning your trip To Turkey don't be scared of exploring New places and new options look at the View it's such a nice view no
No don't cry no You're so brave Can't believe you that said when we're Talking about kalkan and some other the Towns nearby here like cash you might Find some information misleading Information about the Internet situation And I'll tell you about that in just a Second So when we're trying to find a place to Settle down for a month and work we're a Little bit worried about coming to Kalcon and cash because we had watched Some YouTube videos from the same year Of people saying that it was literally Like the worst internet that they had Experienced that they couldn't get Connected anywhere and we kind of had The opposite experience in our airbnbs We found that the internet was perfect But if you want to make double share That you can stay connected while Traveling in Turkey I highly recommend Getting a travel Eason travel esims like Olafly just take a minute or so to set Up and they allow you to be connected to Data the second you land in turkey that Means no expensive roaming fees no going Out and hunting for SIM cards waiting in Long lines trying to set things up in a Different language it's just super Convenient you also don't have to worry About running out of data if you're Staying in a hotel that doesn't have

[Music] Foreign [Music] In the Rocks laying in the rocks So if you come to this beach definitely It is best to get a beach chair and an Umbrella because otherwise you'll be Laying on straight up rocks And on for the last tip of the day and That is to rent a car because in Turkey The rental cars were super cheap for us It was like 19 a day or something we did It on local rent And it allows you to not rely on the Buses if you're traveling around which Take forever because they stop all the Time and just allows you to have more Freedom and explore places that you Wouldn't be able to explore otherwise Especially if you're in Cappadocia or if You're going down the coast along on Talia like we did and so definitely rent Cars with all the amazing food and all The incredible history and the crazy Adventure activities here in Turkey it's A country that you'll want to come back And visit more than one time so don't Try to see it all in the same time guys Even though it's the end of October it's Still freaking hot here and so I'm gonna Go check out the water if you want to Know how to stay safe in Turkey make Sure to check out our video on travel Safety tips next let's go to the water
